I think that's great that you want to master Wp first. I personally am not a fan of Joomla. I haven't worked with Wp enough yet, but it's on my list. Like you mentioned in an earlier post, its not wired to be a cms, that fact alone intrigues me to use it. I may move my Drupal site to wp just to force myself to use it.

About the local sites, you are absolutely correct! I feel the same way, I get excited at first, then go to the page to get disappointed.. Major bummer. Again, nice work with yours, it's nice to see some good quality custom work come from the U.P.

No problem for the boost! Actually, you have done the same for me and my site. I started with an out of the box Drupal site, slapped an out of the box template on it... and let it sit... Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will have time to get to it.

Yeah, I want to work with Joomla, but I want to master Wordpress first. Wordpress is hot right now and is so accessible for clients. Thanks for the comments on the site design. There isn't much good work that comes out of the U.P. There are so many crappy local sites it makes me very dissappointed. I get really excited when I see locals doing nice web projects as well. You make me want to fix a couple of things I've been neglecting on this site. Thanks for the boost.

Awesome to see some updates!

Wordpress over Joomla, interesting. I do like how you guys came to that decision - With the client in mind.

I didn't know where to post it, but I do like the layout you have going on, the colors, the positioning, subtle gradients, good work! Gosh, it's nice to see some good quality IT come from the Jam Dam area.

And, oh yeah, we decided to work with Wordpress over Joomla. This decision was based off of the simplicity for the user to update content with Wordpress. The difficulty comes in when designing the backend to hold the content. Wordpress isn't wired as a CMS technically, so you have to do some major fudging in the theme to get the functionality right. I found a way to make it work though. TGFG. Thank Goodness For Google.

Things are going well. It is really nice to work with other people. I don't have to do design! Thon recently passed me some really nice wireframes and I've been building the site click throughs in Wordpress. Once we get the design plugged in and go live I'll put them on my Portfolio for sure.

We have had some other small projects since I made this post, but nothing worth posting.

Thanks Nicholas. Nice Website BTW. You have a great url.

Wow, someone actually is reading my blog! Nice to hear from you Chris. Things are well here. The sites are in the very beginning stages. We are currently working on the tech plan and design comps. I'll definitely let you know how this progresses.

Something to consider: Using the Asterisk method is processor intensive and for that reason, I am going to shift to a similar approach to Eric Meyer. The asterisk is a simple fix, but perhaps I've been lazy in using this method.
